Position: Janes Defense Analyst Assistance (Part Time / WFH).

 

Here are some qualifications we are looking for in candidates and how you will contribute to Jane's Defense: 

 

  • Conduct targeted research and write research reports according to departmental requirements or client needs.

 

  • Regular collection, summary, and analysis of local security and defense news.

 

What we want you to have:

 

  • Extra points: Strong and stable network relationships in defense or other related areas can be seen as extra points.

 

  • Experience: Independently maintain ongoing attention to Philippine political and military issues. Familiarity with geopolitical issues impacting the region.

 

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory. Education to degree level in a relevant discipline such as international relations or war studies is better.

 

  • Skills: Complete fluency in English and experience in producing written analysis to a high degree of literacy. Collaborate with colleagues and clients from all over the world.

 

  • Location: This is a remote job, and the candidate needs to be in constant contact and responsive with overseas colleagues and clients.

 

  • Discipline: Unexcused loss of contact or delay in work is considered impossible.

 

Compensation for this job is an average of about US$1000-US$4000/month, depending on the rate of experience and skill output.

  • Is this job purely remote?
    Yes, this is 100 percent remote work; you are in control, and you can work from the comfort of your home or anywhere you want to.
  • What is the specific contract for this job?
    The job opening starts as intern. However, after a few months, we found out that you are super fit and have delivered excellent work; you'll then be elevated to permanent status, as the company needs people who have excellent service values in order to sustain and provide high-quality products and services to its clients.

    If you are one of the successful candidates chosen, you can start ASAP.
  • What is the primary area covered by the research?
    Your area of coverage for the challenge is worldwide; you must be well-versed in the current military updates and geopolitical issues of the country, the Philippines, and all issues that pertain to national security threats. Your function can be summarized as collect-process-validate-assess-submit, and monitor.
  • If the job is part-time, what would be the working hours set by the company for the employee to be online?
    There is no specific time or requirement for your presence online, as a regular on-site employee does in the office. However, you should meet the time frame given by your immediate boss or colleagues abroad, as this job requires strong connections or networks from local and international collaborations. Since this is a remote job, you must be in constant contact with and responsive to overseas colleagues and clients.     The payments would be made biweekly via G-cash digital money transfer.

    Since we are not local, the nearest offices of Janes Defense are in Australia and Singapore. And the main headquarters are in Croydon, England, U.K.
  • How long should the application process take?
    The whole process will last about a month; it's a period for the applicant to better know our requirements and for us to know the applicant's interest and expertise. Firstly, we would send the applicant an entry questionnaire, which is designed based on their CV. We will specifically put forward some questions on the applicant's experience to draw a broader picture of them. After that, we will assign three assignments to the applicant; the topics are to help them better know our requirements as well as our working rules. By the way, all these assignments come with rewards; the exact number will depend on the quality of the applicant's reports.
